MONTHLY ACTIVITY CALENDAR

If you read my last post, you know that one of my goals for this year was to resume making monthly activity calendars for my family. I've done this for as long as I can remember and it's one of my favorite things to do.

When I started this, the initial goal was to simply do/see more things in the local area. If you know anything about Enneagram's, then you'll understands what I mean when I say that I'm a classic type 7. If you don't know what that means, then just know that this type of project is ESSENTIAL to my well being. I live for adventure, exploring and being OUT!

Now that we have a child, I feel that it's even more imperative that I continue this tradition. I want nothing more out of life than to give him a fun, exciting, magical childhood and I want to pass on my explorer's heart. I want him to remember all of the fun and exciting things that we did together as a family and the best way to do that, is to plan it out!

Too often in life, our dreams remain such. Life gets busy and we never get around to doing the things that we always dreamed we would and this is my effort to combat that.

HOW TO \\

Typically, I just simply go to Google Calendar and print off a blank monthly calendar and then I'll peruse Facebook Events or even Google "Events in fill in city this month" and see what comes up. Or, if you have a specific location in mind, perhaps a downtown area or a shopping center, check out their website or Facebook page! Sometimes they'll have an events section.

Another way that I find fun things to do, is I'll use Pinterest and Instagram! If you want to explore a little further out from your local parameters, type "Things to Do in fill in state" in Pinterest and see what comes up! There's likely already been many articles written about different cities within your state and it's a great way to find new things to do.

In Instagram, I like to search locations and hashtags. For instance, in Ohio, I might search "Grandview Heights" in both the location and the hashtags and see what comes up! You'd be surprised just how many things you can find just sifting through random people's pictures.

WRAP-UP \\

So there you have it! I hope you're inspired to start your own monthly activity calendars and if you're like me and you're visually motivated, feel free to print off my fun blank calendar below. I like to print mine on card stock to make it a little extra heavy duty and feel a little more official, but you do you, babe!
