Good food, great atmosphere and family hangs. That sounds like a pretty awesome night to me!
Last night, we and Jacob's parents (who just moved here), ventured out together for the first time as a group to check out the Windermere Food Truck Event and IT. WAS. FREEZING!!! But really fun.

Jacob and I LOVE food trucks, and we used to frequent the Food Truck Rally in Dayton, OH when we lived there. Once we moved to Columbus, we didn't go to a single one, so we jumped on the opportunity to go get our food truck fix and our hopes were high!
There were around 15 food trucks in the quaint town square of downtown Windermere. This city is incredibly beautiful and the historic district, where this event takes place, leaves you feeling charmed by it's brick roads, sweeping spanish moss trees and adorable shops and boutiques.

We were so excited to be back at this type of event and the food was smelling incredible, but there were so many options to choose from that it was hard to decide what to try. Eventually, I landed on a cheese-steak sandwich and truffle fries from Hayburner, neither of which disappointed.
The cheese-steak was hot and fresh, perfect for warming up in the most delicious way possible and if you've never had truffle fries...you are missing out, my friend!

Jacob had a mushroom burger from The Brave Burger and he said it was one of the best burgers he may have ever had! Unfortunately, he was so hungry and cold that he scarfed it down before we could even snap a picture. haha

By this point, the 49 degree weather was really getting to us and we were starting to lose the feeling in our nose and hands, so we decided to call it a night (though I regretted later, not staying for at least a donut from the Little Blue Donut truck).
On our way out, we did stand for a few minutes to enjoy the live band that was playing and take in the invigorating atmosphere once more. Locals laughing with one another and conversing, some were dancing, kids running and playing together. Everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves, despite the nip in the air.
And the band, The Down Brothers, was fantastic!
While we wish that we could have stayed longer, we are very much looking forward to making this one of our new favorite stops. Windermere holds this event on the fourth Friday of every month, so you can bet that we will be back!
